Outdoor Wedding Heating

  • Published October 1st, 2013 by mary Lou Guinn, Point of View by Lou Photography

Here is a helpful tip for fall outdoor weddings. As you know, this time of the year, the weather isn't always cooperative for an outside wedding, even with a tent. You may need to consider renting a portable heating unit, your guest will appreciateit especially if the temperature  us less than sixty five degrees. The options are electric and gas heaters and they come in different sizes. Contact the rental company to determine which one is the best for your event.

One of my favorite rental companies is American Party Place in Tacoma WA http://www.americanpartyplace.com/lighting.html

American Party Place 253-473-3300 4522 South Tacoma WA 98409

Kerrie & Shannon's Wedding - Sneak Peak!

  • Published August 18th, 2013 by Mary Lou Guinn, Point of View by Lou Photography

What an Amazing Day for Kerrie & Shannon's Back Yard Wedding!

These two are one of the funnest couples I've ever met! Everything they do is done in laughter. Kerrie's dress was stunning & Shannon's eye's teared up when he saw his bride for the first time coming down the aisle.  The atmosphere was casual and fun.  Great Grandma Mona's attendance made the day super special to create a four generation picture that they will find so special. Kerrie's Dad build the arch in the backyard especially this day and her Mom planted every beautiul flower in the garden so it would bloom for this day.  The bubble made the picture perfect exit for them to escape for their special honeymoon!

Congratulations you guys!

Leah & Kevin's Wedding

  • Published August 10th, 2013 by Mary Lou Guinn, Point of View by Lou Photography

I met Leah & Kevin last fall, They have a cute little dog. I did their engagement session in the park.

Kevin told me afterwards   "I actually had FUN!"  Kevin admitted that he wasn't one to enjoy photography sessions. That is fair, I said, I find that with manyt of our grooms &  we laughed. Later he added that he was looking forward to having me photograph their wedding because he knew it wasn't going to be boring.

Well Kevin & Leah got married on Saturday  and their wedding photos are stunning. I'm really pleased with the concepts I imagined came out perfectly. I am always striving to out do something different or something new. I do this because brides don't want to have the same photos as the previous bride!  Every BRIDE is unique so I have to be unique!

These are some of my favorites from their wedding day!

Gig Harbor Wedding Party rides the trolley!

  • Published August 4th, 2013 by Mary Lou Guinn, Point of View by Lou Photography

Gig Harbor has a new trolley!

Saturday Nick & Nikki had a beautiful garden wedding at a home near the historic downtown waterfront of Gig Harbor, WA.  We were only 1 block away from the trolley stop so we walked on down and hopped on!

I think we surprised some of the passengers when we boarded!  Most were happy to join in the festivities and celebrate the new couple, but a couple of them hopped off at the next stop!

I love that we could incorporate something FUN, Unique and New into their wedding album, not only that but the memory of all their friends together on the trolley laughing and making memories is priceless!

Making memories & capturing true moments - That is what I do!

I love being a wedding photographer!!!

Vacation & Wedding Anniversaries

  • Published July 1st, 2013 by Point of View by Lou Photography Mary Lou Guinn

The month of June went by way too quick for me!  We had a super busy month in the studio - Yeah!! We love having happy clients!

We got to work with the Peninsula High School Basketball Team for their sponsor packages to raise money so we did some fun photos them

We also has some great business portraits.  Every person has a unique business so not every business photo is the same, cookie cutter style that you may find in the mall.  The consultation with each client is important so we can create the perfect photo for them to use. Here is a quick sample of what we were able to do for two very different business women.

Sara Amundson is an up and coming author who was just nominated for an award and needed a photo for her book jacket and website. Her book is set in the Pacific Northwest so an outdoor portrait was perfect for her.  Angelia Colglazier is director at Tordis' Hope Foundation and needed a new business portrait for her website.

June is also the biggest annual event that we've photographed. This is our 3rd year as the official photographer for the Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce - Maritime Festival.  The two day event has so much to offer everyone! I had the best time there. Saturday I was there for 13 hours and Sunday I was there for 6 hours.  To say the least... I was very tired when it was over!  Here are a few of my favorites!  Check out the event next year, it is always the first weekend in June.

these are the Seattle Pirates

This fun photo was taken from the top of the crow's nest on the Historic Commencement fishing boat. I was the only photographer invited to climb to the top and get some amazing photos!  The climb up wasn't that bad... it was the climb down that was a little scary!  But all so worth it. This is the Jerisch Park & the Historic Net Shed.  The park was filled with Hundreds people to check out the booths, eat yummy food and tour the beer

Sunday is the fleet of Gig Harbor Fishing Boats that line up for the Traditional Blessing of the Fleet.  It is an amazing view to see these grand ships line up!  This one is really one of my absolute favorites!

We photographed Paul & Amanda's wedding on the 15th. These two had a super busy weekend, not only did they get married, but they also graduated the University of Washington the day before in the morning then had their wedding dress rehearsal in the evening! Then Saturday morning were married! They were headed off to Hawaii for their much needed Honeymoon!  Congratulations you guys!

I wrote a post this last week on my facebook page with a link to some informational about the traditional "Something Blue"  Be sure to check it out.  Here is a photo of Lori's something blue, a set of simple blue hair pins were perfect for her.  Ryan and Lori celebrated their anniversary this month as well - Happy Anniversary you guys!

We had two family birthdays, my husband Joe had his 50th birthday and my son Jared had his 11th birthday!  We had a Survivor themed party since my hubby has survived 3 strokes and a heart attack!  We had about 80 guest come by during our out door themed party!  Here are a few of my fav's - Joe with his immunity cupcake! Joe and his Dad and then Joe and my folks.

My two boys play Jr PGA golf and their Gig Harbor Team won their Pierce County division!  We had lots of traveling this month but the two that stick out in my mind are the  to the Home Course in Dupont and the Tacoma Country Club in Lakewood, both of those tournaments were rainy days!  They have a great team and here is my favorite of them all!

And to finish off the month, I took a vacation!  We loaded up the suburban and headed to Central Oregon. We love the Eagle Crest Resort in Redmond.  We had 7 day with this amazing view. The boys went fishing and golfing and of course spent lots of time in the pool.  It was the perfect way to end this month!

So here is looking forward to the next month!

'Lou
